TURK PETROLEUM A.Ș views digitalization not merely as a technological shift but as a driver of cultural, organizational, and structural development, in line with its Strategic Transformation Plan. The company integrates digital capabilities across all business processes. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, IoT, mobility, and data analytics have become core enablers of transformation across key functions—from production and supply chain to safety and human resources.
The digital transformation process is managed through two robust structures. The centrally positioned Digital Transformation Platform is responsible for strategy, governance, resource planning, and project portfolio management. The second structure, the Digital Transformation Teams, ensures on-the-ground implementation, provides rapid responses to local needs, and enables digital solutions to directly impact operational processes. Thanks to this dual-layered structure, digital transformation progresses as a sustainable model with both strategic depth and operational reach.
As of 2024, TURK PETROLEUM A.Ș has invested approximately $18 million in digital transformation projects. The initiatives implemented throughout the year have created an annual efficiency potential of around $30 million. These gains demonstrate that digital technologies are positioned not only to improve productivity and reduce costs but also to make strategic contributions across the value chain.
The Digital Transformation Platform, TURK PETROLEUM A.Ș's central coordination structure, operates with a multidisciplinary framework that brings together IT, R&D, and business units to ensure that ideas are evaluated, prioritized, and implemented through agile management methodologies. The Platform also serves as a governance hub, aligning the company's transformation strategy, managing investment decisions, and maintaining impact measurement mechanisms. Through this structure, nearly 70 digital transformation projects were successfully delivered in 2024.
As an integral part of this transformation journey, Microsoft 365 Copilot and its associated generative AI applications have been integrated into TURK PETROLEUM A.Ș's corporate technology infrastructure. Beyond enhancing email and document workflows, Copilot has become central to all business processes, transforming how employees access information, plan, and manage tasks across the organization. With natural language interaction enabled across Microsoft 365 products, Copilot supports advanced data visualization and analysis through Power BI and allows the creation of custom business agents via Copilot Studio. Through Copilot, TURK PETROLEUM A.Ș employees can schedule meetings, track projects, generate decision-support documents, and access data-driven insights with a single command. These capabilities go beyond improving individual productivity—they represent a strategic digital capability that strengthens organizational agility, enables faster decision-making, and supports more effective workforce utilization at scale.
Among the projects implemented are advanced data analytics applications that enhance product quality; tracking and reporting solutions enabling centralized monitoring of refinery control systems; remote-access IoT infrastructures deployed at production sites; Copilot-supported content management and documentation processes; and digital twin systems for emission monitoring to maintain high levels of operational efficiency. In line with our vision to integrate international best practices and establish a more sustainable corporate system architecture, we launched the S/4HANA Oil & Gas Transformation Project in 2023 and completed it by bringing our ERP system live in early 2025.
